I didn’t want to love it all. Truly,I didn’t! Loving new skincare products means more money spent and y’all know I pride myself on sticking with what works, but….

this stuff is better than the hype.

My skin has been doing that really adorable thing where it’s dry in some areas, grossly oily in others, and “Hello there fine lines! I guess this is what your late 20’s looks like.” 😳😂.  I’ve had so many problem areas I didn’t know where to start. The watermelon mask came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The cool thing about the Glow Recipe masks is that they’re pillow friendly. To get the most out of the masks you want to put a small amount all over and sleep in it. Wake up with plump hydrated skin? Sign me up! I’ve used this mask every night for the past week, topped off my skin with the Watermelon Glow Pink Juice moisturizer during the day, and my skin is finally loving me again. I’ve noticed a huge difference in texture, hydration, and less visibility of fine lines. All products are paraben free and packed with hyaluronic acid (aka the good stuff that leaves your skin plump and youthful looking). So yes, I’m saying it. This $45 mask is worth it!Summer is upon us and I don’t know about you, but skipping makeup in this heat is the ultimate goal! My skin is so smooth and supple. All I need is a glossy lip, moisturizer, a little spot concealing and I’m out the door. I may not have my summer body in time, but my skin? My skin will be FLAWLESS!

Chanel just launched their first Beauté Artelier in the heart of Soho and Dorthy…we are definitely not in Kansas anymore. This is not your average beauty experience so brace yourself.

Rather than feeling the pressure of buying in other beauty retail stores, Chanel’s Beauty Atelier was created exclusively for experimentation.
Interactive shopping experiences are quickly becoming the new wave of retail so it’s no surprise that Chanel delivered a 5 start rating when it comes to overall shopping experience. Upon arrival you’re given a classic Chanel Logo locker ( 👀where were these in high school?). Once your belongings are put away there’s a station of sinks and ultra glam vanitys plushly stocked with the holy grail of Chanel skincare products. Perfect for getting your canvas prepped and primed for some high end painting 💄. The atelier is divided in the order you’d put your makeup on at home so after you’re cleansed and primed you’re off to the Skin Enhancer section. You can experiment on your own or ask one of the resident artists for assistance. If you’re a skin buff like me, you’ll be a kid in a candy store. Every skin type gets some love before moving on to foundation station,  the lip bar, eye colour station, and the ultra chic parfum atelier.

Love beauty shopping but hate the hassle of cleaning each product before swatching? 🙌🏻The Chanel Angels have answered our prayers! Rather than having to mess with one tube of lipstick a million people have touched the Lip Bar has every shade offered cut in square sized samples stylishly displayed to find your perfect shade. Talk about clean beauty!

Don’t leave before finishing your look with a signature scent. The Atelier Parfum room is cultivated perfectly to ensure you have a custom fragrance journey. 💁🏼‍♀️Is it over the top? Yes! But we need it! All Chanel fragrances are available for you to blindly test under white camellias. I love this concept! It’s such a unique way of discovering what you like without being swayed by the name or packaging.

Not only does Chanel give you the luxe experience but they have a room solely dedicated to capturing content to showcase your new goodies! Every blogger/ influencers dream. The Coco Lab is the last stop of the Atelier and you can’t leave without snapping a good flat lay and hash tagging #welovecoco!I was told workshops will later be held in this room so you NYC girls are so lucky! If you’re in the area pop in and snap a few photos! Better yet go during their happy hour on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A makeup artist will highlight one feature for you before heading out on the town. Chanel contour and a glass of champagne for $30? Yes,please!

Thanks for reading babies and happy NYFW!

Is anyone else’s skin doing this really awesome thing where it’s dry in some spots and oily in others? No? Just me? We’re having one of those interesting winters where my skin can’t decide whether it wants to be hydrated or exfoliated. Either way I’ve been trying to not anger it with the help of First Aid Beauty and for the past few months my skin has been loving me back. Finally! I hate giving quick product reviews so I decided to test these products for at least three months before reporting back.

First aid beauty face cleanser-  Is a need! Not a want! When I saw it had antioxidant boosters in it I didn’t think much of it, but as soon as I wash my face I was like “Whoa!I’m glowing!”. Any time your significant other can notice a difference in your skin you know it’s good. Men don’t know any better and try to use complimentary words like “Wow! Your skin looks really healthy and shiny!”. The term is “glowing” babe, but thank you! The cleanser is perfect because it gives me a deep clean without drying my skin, you need it!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance intensive peel-  So! So! Good but proceed with caution. The label explicitly states “ 5-10 minutes or until you can handle it” the tingling sensation is unreal but for testing purposes I left it on as long as I could. Please do better than me. The product is great and I’m sure I would’ve had great results if I took it off when I was suppose to. Instead my skin was so red and the tingle had grew to a light burning sensation. Totally my fault. If you have sensitive skin I say rinse it as soon as you feel the tingle. It was totally worth the trial an error. The next morning I woke up so impressed with my freshly exfoliated skin and my makeup has been going on flawless ever since. If you’re looking for a restart button on your skin, this is the mask to try it really does it’s job.

First Aid Coconut water cream- OMG you guys! I haven’t been so in love with a moisturizer in such a long time! All of the products were great but the coconut water cream stole my heart away. It’s ultra hydrating, lightweight, makes your skin luminous and improves texture. I’d highly recommend it. Usually when it comes to skincare it takes a few weeks to see a difference but not with this stuff! Afer the first use your skin is noticably softer and has even improved my fine lines on my forehead. It’s taken care of my dry patchy areas and my skin is so soft after each use. I’m obsessed with it!Definitely my favorite out of the bunch.

Kendrick doesn’t know what he did for me when he said “Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks”.  Like yessss! Thank you!

Whether you have old stretch marks or are expecting them in your near future you may find yourself overwhelmed when it comes to selecting the right one for you. Do you go with the high end product that claims to work miracles and make your stretch marks disappear? The drugstore brand our mothers swear by? The latest Instagram Ad you saw this morning? If you’re like me you’ll buy about five and see which one is most effective. I’ve always had stretch marks on my legs, thighs, and hip area so I was expecting more of them with pregnancy. Oddly enough, new ones haven’t surfaced so I’m thanking good ol’ H2O and Bio Oil. Obviously other factors (like genetics) play a huge role in whether or not you’ll get more with pregnancy, but there’s nothing wrong with preventative care.  I’m so bad when it comes to keeping up with a nightly skincare routine so soaking my body in heavy lotions that take thirty minutes to absorb was never an option for me. I tried Burts and Bees, Palmers, Mederma, EarthMama… and while they were nice I didn’t get the results I did with Bio Oil.

STORY TIME: When the waist trainer hype began years ago my mama sent me an O.G Colombian one. The real ones with boned wiring, four hooks, and inner lining that only allowed you to breathe in quick short breaths. I wore that thing like crazy for week, took it along for my workout and POP! I was mid workout so I didn’t pay any mind to the sharp pinching I kept feeling. I got home and had the worst cut. The wiring had busted and was continuously jabbing me on my side leaving me with the ugliest scar on my stomach(Anything for a small waist, right?) smh.

Bio Oil works so good it’s actually faded away all of my preexisting stretch marks. Including the waist trainer fail from 2014.  They haven’t completely disappeared, but they’re definitely less noticeable and I’m HYPE! I noticed a dramatic difference after the first month of using it. A little goes a long way and it quickly absorbs into the skin unlike other  lotions and oils I tried where I felt a grease monkey after. This stuff is GREAT and my skin’s texture has really improved. I use it right after the shower and I’m set. I’m sure my skin is going to look way different post baby so I plan on keeping it stocked on my vanity for a while!  If you’re looking for a cream I would recommend Burts and Bees, for sure.  As for the high end products… truthfully, I didn’t see a difference and Bio Oil is still number one in my book. I wanted to wait until the end of my pregnancy to give you guys a thourough review and out of all 5 products this one’s the winner!

I would just like to reiterate that I AM NOT A HAIR DRESSER nor do I have any professional experience as one. My knowledge on hair toning stems from years of experience being a broke college girl trying to go platinum on a bronze budget. I have mastered bleaching and toning my hair at home for less than $20.  Toning is perfect for blondes who have unwanted yellow and orange tones that purple shampoo can’t cover. It’s a quick and inexpensive way to refresh your color, give you a that cooler / icy blonde without spending $347.22 per visit.  I’d suggest testing out a strand of hair in a less visible area before fully committing. However, if you’re hair is already blonde and have a few patches that wont budge, this should work like a charm so here we go.

step 1- secionalize your hair and take out all the brassy strands you want to fix.

step 2- mix one scoop (or half  of the tube) of Ion’s HL-V Hi lift ash blonde permanent creme  hair color and two scoops of 30 volume developer in a bowl. Mix it well and apply to the areas needed. Wait 25-30 minutes and rinse.

step 3- Shampoo with a purple shampoo of your choice and your favorite deep conditioner and you’re all set. *pro tip- use Olaplex 3 treatment. Toning or bleaching of any kind can make your hair dry and less vibrant. What’s the fun in being blonde if I can’t flip my hair without it breaking? . Olaplex has really kept my hair healthy and luscious looking*

Done! This should hold you over until your next appointment. The color is permanent so with proper care it’ll last you for months. I’ve been doing this for years and I love it. Good luck and if you have any questions I’m here.

Love,

your fellow not-so-average blonde

Coffee body scrub – When I think of “lovely lady lumps” my mind quickly runs to my legs 😂. I carry most of my weight in my lower body so while a little curve here and there is nice, it comes with a price. Stretch marks, cellulite, dimples, ripples, call it what you will but I got them. I’ve altered my diet, tried crazy exercises that decrease cellulite and tighten skin, always do my best to stay hydrated but still have texture on the back of my thighs. While coffee scrub doesn’t make them disappear, it DOES help to exfoliate and stimulate the blood flow to those stubborn areas. I started using coffee scrub years ago and now it’s part of my routine. Over time you’ll see the difference in your skins texture. Friend to friend, you need to try this and do it year round. Once summer rolls around you’ll be blasting Kendrick’s “Humble “ and feeling extra confident in your skin .

Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Body Wash – If you’re looking for an at home spa experience this is your new best friend. Ever tried a tea tree shampoo? That refreshing tingly sensation with fresh scents of mint and eucalyptus? Nice, right? That’s exactly the feeling you get with this body wash. I love it. It’s the only body wash I use. It leaves me feeling refreshed. It’s affordable and free of any harsh chemicals found in other body washes.

Rosehip oil– Every once in a while you get in one of those Tumblr honey vibes. Give me glowy even complexion, glossy lips and lids, and natural lighting for a selfie. But wait…how do I achieve that flawless look? For most of us, an even glowy complexion is on our Christmas list every year. Rosehip oil has been a game changer for me. I have redness in my cheeks and nose region. I’ve used all sorts of green tea treatments that promise to soothe redness but it never seemed to last. Rosehip is a natural way to achieve an even complexion, not to mention re-hydrate your skin and gradually fill any fine lines. Every night I mix a drop of rosehip oil and a few drops of coconut oil on my face and neck and it works. The past few years I’ve been completely comfortable leaving the house without makeup! I love it.

Castor oil– Dig through some photos in high school and you’ll find me eyebrowless 😂. That’s right! I was a self inflicted victim of over plucking and thinning eyebrows. Thank god for castor oil. Just like skincare, it takes a good 3-4 weeks to see results but my eyebrows are socially acceptable now and full as can be. It’s natural and saves me a ton of money when it comes to brow products. I used to use pomade, eyebrow pencil, eyebrow tint and gel. Now I can get away with brow soap and a few strokes of eyebrow powder. Try it!

Charcoal toothpaste – Okay, I know black toothpaste can seem a little unsettling but I swear by this stuff. It’s the only thing I use now to whiten my teeth. I used to use whitening stripes, whitening treatments that cost a fortune, and whitening toothpaste. After years of doing so, my teeth became sensitive. A bit of research and trial and error and I found Hello Fresh Toothpaste. I promise, three brushes later and I saw dramatic results. No nasty aftertaste, no big mess, and a hundred percent effective. I’d highly recommend it.

Aztec mask – I’m sure most of you have heard of this gem, but in case you were in a internet hiatus, here it is again. This Aztec mask is like hitting the reset button. I have large pores around my nose and t-zone so I use this at least twice a month. Never fails, once I use it my pores are clean, noticeably smaller and my skin is so smooth. No painful blackhead stripes, no burning mask, no $300 bill from the spa for extractions. It’s a miracle, and you get so much for the money. I have sensitive skin and combo oil levels so I’m always pleased when I can find something that gives me a deep clean but doesn’t make my skin peel.

I can go on and on with my natural beauty favorites, but I figured I’d ease you guys in. I’ll leave a link below in case you want to check them out.

X,

-Kristin

Loopidity DUPE! Swoopdity Doop.. (or whatever Kanye is saying in that song)

I love the saying “you get what you pay for” but when it comes to cosmetics, that’s not always the case. Majority of the time we pay for the name&cute packaging. I was out of town and forgot my favorite ABH brow necessities. You can imagine my hysteria so I had to grab something quick at CVS! That moment of desperation ended up saving me money in the long run because I haven’t went back to high end brow products since. Milani’s brow fix is the best $7 I’ve ever spent and it’s lasted me so long. The color payoff is great and it’s just as blendable as ABH.

Everyone’s holy grail setting powder is Laura Mercier.I don’t know if every YouTuber in the world made a pact to say that there’s nothing better, but there definitely is! I’ve tried high end and drugstore and the RCMA setting powder is still my favorite. It conceals my pores (which is major for me), I can bake a little bit and it won’t make me look cakey. It keeps my makeup set all day, not to mention it’s only $10!

Moving on to overly priced liquid highlighters. Do you remember when Cover FX came out with their liquid highlighters? OMG for months that’s all people would talk about. I went in,swatched it,but couldn’t commit. I searched high and low before finding Makeup Revolutions liquid highlighter drops. $44 or $9? You do the math 😂
highligher dupes
We know the Kardashians rule the internet but they don’t have to rule your bank account too! KKW and Kylie Cosmetic’s nudes can easily be swapped for NYX cosmetics soft matte creams. “Cairo” is my favorite peachy nude and it’s lasts longer than both KKW and the Kylie lipsticks.$49 or $5.99 🤷🏼‍♀️? It’s an easy decision!
Onto blush, MAC’s “peaches” blush and their mineralize blushes are a summer staple 😩  they’re beautiful but if you don’t feel like splurging Milani’s Baked Blushes are only $7.99 and there’s so many shades that it’s easy to find a dupe for your MAC blushes. Luminoso and their baked blush in Soleil are my favorites.

Just thought I’d share a few of my favorite dupes. I know there’s some things that can’t be compromised and we have to splurge, but any chance I get to save a little, that’s what I’m doing so I hope this helps.Love!Love! Love yall!

I have a new summer love…and it’s called Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer”

“Skin is in” has been a classic transition when it comes to summer looks. From higher SPF’s, BB creams, intense skin care regimens and ultra hydrating our bodies, summer calls for extra attention to the skin. Boscia’s new Cactus Water moisturizer makes you look like you’ve been prepping for glowing summer skin all year (and I’ve only used it for a few weeks so you can clearly tell how enthused I am). Over the past week my skin looks and feels so hydrated. Dull, parched, textured skin was creeping up on me just like this summers temperature . Going with a lighter moisturizer that’s quick absorbing is a must this summer. I’ve even used it as a cleanser along with my Michael Todd cleansing brush and OMG! I truly haven’t had this even skin tone in such a long time. My fine lines are less visible and after a week of using it my skin was glowing on it’s own. Making my “no makeup” makeup days less terrifying to the general public. The texture is a gel based and comes with a glass applicator for the most luxurious application. This little glass of water for the face has the lightest scent and perfect for all skin types. Even oily skin types, like myself. Every time I work the product into my skin I get all the 5-star spa vibes.I’m addicted! A little goes a very long way with this product so the $38 price tag vs. having dry and patchy skin is well worth it in my opinion. You can grab yours at Sephora now! Let me know what some of your summer skincare favorites are 😊

boscia cactus water reviewI received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Boscia. All opinions are a thousand percent my own, as always.

My lips are pretty full but that doesn’t mean I don’t like the occasional extra pout..and by “like” I mean I prefer extra plump lips. I never got a hang of overdrawing my lips without looking like a Picasso painting so rather than embarrassing myself, I stick with lip plumping gloss. Trust me, this is best for everyone 😂. I always get asked what my favorite gloss is and what I’d recommend so here we go! Here’s the list
My go-to, holy grail, ride or die, can’t live without plumping lipgloss is Buxom Full On Lip Plumping lip gloss. It’s high shine, ultra glossy, long-wearing and there’s so many beautiful shades to pick from. So whether you’re into shimmer in your gloss or full coverage color they have a little bit of something for everyone. It gives my lips a little extra oomph.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen active lipgloss takes my number 2 spot. It works just as good as Buxom, but that price tag always makes me cringe. It’s worth it, but I’m a heavy gloss user so Buxom just seems more practical.
My not so faves actually made me have a bit of irritation. My lips were swollen, cracked, on fire and definitely not sexy after using these two. The Too Faced Lip injection gloss was a no-go for me. It was way to harsh on my lips. Not to mention I had this red outline on the outer parts of my lip line. Not cute! No one wanted to kiss those lips, not even me! So if you have sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend. The Givenchy lipgloss is something I needed in my life. They had the most perfect shades and when I swatched them in the store, I didn’t feel any instant irritation. To be a hundred percent accurate, I didn’t feel anything at all. I tested it a few times and as beautiful as it was it didn’t give me a plumping effect. FAIL! I didn’t return it. Even though it didn’t work for me, it’s still a beautiful gloss so I use it when I want to feel extra fancy.
Anything else I tried didn’t work for me but I’m always always trying to find a new plumping gloss. That’s all for now babies let me know what lip plumpers you love!

I think my level of frugality hit a peak when I found myself spending well over 15 minutes looking for the largest bell pepper this morning. The bell pepper was 53 cents 😂 just to show you where I’m at in life. I hate overspending for anything! If I can get more for my money, go ahead and skip in front of me because I’ll wait. If I have a beauty item that works I don’t bother to fix it. All that being said I have the worlds most stubborn lashes. They’re a decent length but stick straight out, much like I do when I get dressed up in this conservative city 😂. I’ve tried every tool under the sun. Purchased every mascara. Tried every stupid video on YouTube and burned the first layer of my eyelid. No, seriously, not my proudest moment. I’ve done everything to not wear false lashes everyday and just feel free. I haven’t tried lash extensions yet. I want to but I can’t commit so I’m still here waiting for the perfect curler and mascara. It’s like Lancôme heard my cry for help because their new Le curler and Monsieur Big Mascara are the best duo since Jay-Z and Beyoncé. I usually stick with my old faithful L’Oréal telescopic mascara and old Sephora lash curler and the curly lashes party would die down about 15 minutes after my application. SO! SO! Frustrating. I’ve been using these two for month and don’t see my cheap self going back to my old ways. While I wouldn’t opt to apply this mascara for the bottom lashes, it’s perfect overall. Gives my lashes enough moisture throughout the day and the curler guys, the curler is life! My lashes are so poppin without falsies, it’s a early Christmas miracle. You can snag yours at Sephora or Nordstroms. Let me know if you love it too!

This item was gifted to me by Lancôme but all opinions are a hundred percent my own.
